Interior Painting and Decorating project at Stumperlowe, Fulwood, Sheffield.
The team at Drew Decor were looking forward to starting this Hall, Stairs and Landing Painting and Decorating project at Stumperlowe Hall Road, Sheffield.
It was to be transformed from a room that was just painted to a fully wallpapered Hall, Stairs and Landing. The area of Stumperlowe, Fulwood in Sheffield is a beautiful location and has some of the most jaw dropping properties in Sheffield.
As usual it was to be prepared before the paint brushes got released. The Mirka Deros Dustless sander was in action sanding the ceilings walls and woodwork to perfection, and sanded once again after the ceilings, walls and wood work were meticulously filled.
We had a problem ahead of us with the hand rail, it had been previously stained with a water based stain over an oil based stain. This is not recommended as a water based stain just sits on top of the hard oil based stain and easily scrapes and peels off, Especially with the traffic the hand rail gets. So we had to sand the hand rail back to bare and start again to make sure it didn’t peel off again and leave a hard surface that would last a lifetime.
After the preparation the ceilings were painted with three coats of Johnstone's Covaplus. The wood work was painted firstly with a primer and then two coats of satinwood, once again by Johnstone's paint. The hand rail was stained with three coats of satin.
Once all the painting was finished we could then start on the wallpapering. We haven't had the pleasure of hanging this particular wallpaper brand before. It was to be a G P & J Baker Wallpaper from the Larkhill Collection, Ryecote Damask.
We were not let down with the quality, it was superb and looked fantastic.
